Hollywood Does It Doggiestyle

Entertainment Weekly reports that Hollywood is developing a movie adaption of the famous Dogs Playing Poker painting.

I don't know if this is retarded...or fucking brilliant!

I mean, Hollywood has already spewed out crappy adaptations of old TV shows, comic books, remakes of classic movies. So, I guess the only place to go after that is adapting paintings.

Can you imagine someone pitching one of these gems to a studio?

"OK, so, it's a romantic comedy, but the twist is that it's based on those still life paintings of fruit. There's this apple, you see, and she was the last to be picked off the tree; people always underestimated her because she's a quirky Meg Ryan type. And she meets this orange who has--can you see where I'm going with this?--an "acerbic" wit. They only meet briefly, though, in the produce department. Then, through a series of hilarious mishaps and misadventures, they finally meet up again in the studio of an artist who paints still lifes. We can call it 'Fruitless in Seattle'."
